In my entire 67 years on this planet, I have never witnessed such a charismatic performer as Dany. Yes, there are many other performers who are more technical and polished than Dany, but none that can captivate and make you feel so welcomed. I am glad I have lived this long to have witnessed her and her sisters live in concert - such a treat.
That's the charm of Dany. Just by herself, she's so fun and likeable, I'd pay money just to watch her goof around like this. We get a little glimpse of how she is, and it's just so sweet.
Every single band out there has their Spinal Tap moments. It's how you handle the technical issues that makes you a cut above the rest. That's what makes The Warning so special, and why they are already icons.
Too many bands forget it’s not about them, it’s about the song and the connection with the audience. If the audience don’t feel it nothing else matters. The Warning really care about the quality of their performance and the connection they have with the audience through their music.
They have done multiple acoustic sets. They did four songs at the Hotel Autentico in Monterrey in 2019. They did an acoustic preconcert prior to their private London concert in 2022 (now public). They did a WDHA Parking Lot concert in 2024. They did a Sofar concert in London in 2024. And there are more including doing songs at radio and tv station studios including French TV.
What happened in Six Feet Deep was when the crowd problem happened and Pau paused the show on her laptop, the song/setlist hadn't actually started yet, just the video sync was running. Pausing at that moment caused Ableton Live to lock up. There is a setlist with click track and audio tracks set in Ableton. At the time she was only sending a sync signal to the video desk. Stopping the sync caused it to lock, and her MacBook probably also crashed. So they most likely had to restart the computer and reload the show in Ableton Live. Then they moved forward once the problem was fixed and played a different song (Sick), but Ale forgot to change her bass. Six Feet Deep the bass is tuned to drop-d and Sick is standard tuning. They now have a backup computer that runs in sync with Pau's laptop, where her laptop only does control (start/stop) and the other runs the actual show.
One of the greatest things about this band is that heouh their use of social media, their fans have gotten to know them personally and have a friendly relationship with them (well as friendly as you can get without actually getting to meet them personally) and Dany can joke around with them like friends might do when things aren't working. That plus her natural showmanship allow her to keep things light hearted and entertaining when needed. The 'goofy Dany' part of her personality is something that most of the audience knows and likes and it's something that she can pull out and use when he situation calls for it like she was doing when dancing around without her guitar
Thanks Erol...so glad you decided to check this out....These are just some of the mishaps the Ladies encounter over the years and every single time Dany handles it with grace, humor and a total professional, she is a fabulous Front Women, probable best there is these days. Can just imagine some bands not handling this very well... but not these girls. Sharing all this with us is a delight, they hide nothing, share everything....Love them to death. Cheers. BTW, there is a ton of "unplugged" acoustic shows and videos for you to listen to....will take you several months to get through them all. To many to list here. All are on their Official Warning Channel.
10:27 I was there for that show. I think Dany just forgot how the lyrics of the song started. At 10:20 you can (barely) hear Pau give her the first line "Help me now" and Dany says "there you go. alright!" and starts the song.
At the last show in Pachuca, Pau said it wasn't anything to do with her computer but something happened with the equipment where the audio was cutting out in both the PA and their in-ear monitors, so they couldn’t hear each other or the click track. They worked on it for at least ten minutes trying to solve it while the crowd watched.
Ale had the wrong bass because she uses a different one for the song they planned to start with, but once everything was working they decided to skip that song and go to the next in the setlist. With everything else going on, she forgot to switch. The show went great once everything was resolved, and the crowd was very supportive and forgiving.
Crimson Queen, Dany’s guitar has no sound—at first, glances seeking help; two little sisters who seem to trust their big sister completely, and in the end.... ....what an emotional version. All three are still teens (approx. 15/17/19). The whole concert is worth watching! A lot is still in its early stages, things that were later perfected. Toward the end.... “The End” (Stars Always Seem To Fade) 1:16:09 and following .... Here’s Pau in action again—singing, triggering (video, click track, ..?), drumming... (She later won two drumming awards !! ..... The reason - the "Whole Package" behind the drum-kit?) There’s not much to say about Dany’s voice—it’s simply brilliant. The “little” sister Ale on bass, at about 15! 15,17,19 - no cover Concert, own music!!!
I love it when bands manage to make it part of the show. The lead guitarist in a (much lower profile) band I saw one time broke a string, and he didn't have a second guitar. The rest of the band jammed while he changed the string and tuned it, then he stood up, did a theatrical wipe-the-forehead "phew" gesture, and they went right back into the song. Got a big cheer. Dany is just a particularly fine example.
About singing without an instrument: Pau also explained in an interview that she had to specifically train to grab a microphone, hold it in her hand and move around for her "Narcissista" or "Consume" performances as a front woman.
TW embraces their tech difficulties as a part of touring. Every musician knows that crap happens. What impresses most of us is the way they handle things. Also, song lyrics become tied to the muscle memory of what you're playing on your instrument. Anything that interrupts that can lead to forgetting what to sing.
RE: the wah pedal thing. Dany uses a pitch shifter on that song. And it comes very soon after using the wah-wah effect. So the switch wasn't engaged to turn off the shifter.
When your guitar malfunctions during a song like that is kind of like having your pants fall down in front of a crowd of people and someone shines a spotlight on you. It throws you for a second,, it's like your shield has failed and you are totally exposed! But you just soldier on.🤘🤙
