Ignorance as strength, freedom as slavery, love as crime. The monstrous world of "1984" is literally turned inside out.
How did this spiritual catastrophe happen? What is the flaw in the philosophy of the Party and Big Brother? And do the main characters have a chance of salvation?
In a video essay with Vitaly Kaplan (t.me/vitaly_kaplan), science fiction writer and editor of Foma magazine, we examine in detail the essence of George Orwell's iconic dystopia.
