Brooo I’m jumping up and down all the way from South Africa . This is my first month away from the meetings and seeing young people stand up like this is helping me realise I’m not alone. You articulate yourself so well! Keep the videos coming
I got married at 18 to a 17 year old. Elders kids. Once my child brain started to develop in my early 20s I realized my prayers to jehovah to “help me see this is the truth” were r working. I thought me and my wife were mostly o. The same page. We came home from a Sunday meeting when I was 24 and as I was taking my jacket off I said “you don’t really believe all this shit do you? We’re just doing this bcuz we were programmed from birth”. I saw he heart break. I knew that was the end of my marriage and my life as I knew it.
You mentioned you didn’t know why a witness would be watching this, trust they are looking for the answers! This is so important to share!! Proud of you for sharing your story!!
The 1914 doctrine is what woke me up as a Jehovah's Witness. When the covid pandemic hit, I decided to do some research about 1914 and how they arrived at that date. After searching in the encyclopedia, I discovered the fall of Jerusalem was in 587 BCE. This blew my mind just like what you found out. I questioned the elders and the Watchtower's credibility. I was outraged by the lies the governing body told us, so I left and never returned. Today, I'm a Christian and follower of Jesus Christ and I'm so thankful for Jesus for drawing me to God. Thank you for your video it's helping so many people. I urge the JWs to do their research and when you find out the REAL TRUTH, leave immediately. Jesus said to get out and don't listen to false prophets.
Thank you for sharing! I left and became agnostic and am now Christian. It was a long journey to get there. JWs and Christians have very different beliefs. JWs teachings can have quite a strong hold. The Jehovah of the Watchtower is evil. The Jehovah of the Watchtower is not the Jehovah of the Bible.
Hi all, I just want to say I was brought up as a witness and it has totally screwed up my life. I was constantly told that the end of the world was coming, I have basically been living waiting to die for 43 years believing there was no point in doing anything because the end of the world was coming, can't tell you how unhealthy and unhappy this has made me, I am so angry about being indoctrinated from such a young age, I now hate what this organization has done to me and often wish I had never knew about it xx
Hey man thank you so much for your video. I was only 6 when my mom decided that she wanted us to be Jehovah witnesses and the road to be where i am now was a tough one. My mom was so brainwashed to the point that she controlled every aspect of my life. The way i dressed, what i watched, what I believed, my education, what I read, hobbies, sports, all those things had no meaning because i wasn't prioritizing Jehovah. She was also not scared to physically hurt me so i would understand how bad of a son i was being towards her and Jehovah. I fought with my life to get out of that religion and I'm so proud of myself for always knowing that something wasn't right. I am now 28 and although i left when i was 17 it really set me back a lot. It took me about 10 years to truly find freedom and I am so happy to be writing this and the fact that i am not the only one. I am going to college now and although i am barely starting i have a lot of dreams for myself. I have also delve into philosophy and everyday i spend it looking for ways to expand my knowledge, the last thing i want to ever do is become like my mom, to be easily manipulated simply because someone else tells us not to research anything. Keep it up man and stay strong!
You are not an apostate. You are a whistleblower. You are not attacking a kind and gentle religion. You are warning the community about a dangerous and destructive organization. Thank you for your content. Exjw -35 years Never looked back. Was the best decision I ever made.
I went through the same emotions as you did, I even questioned God. I was agnostic for 2 years. It takes time to work through the deprogramming. It's not about Jehovah's sovereignty, that is what the JW's made us believe. Nothing we learned from the organization was true. I cried for a year, as I realized I had been lied to all my life. But I came out on the other side as a Christian, with a strong relationship in Christ. I found freedom in Him.
Good stuff young man. I was your brother and my older sister was you. Long story short, she truly woke up decades later. JW and religion in general never made sense to me sometime around elementary school. The “us v them” rhetoric, fear and loathing was evident and offensive. Live your life young bro and much success!
I was raised a Witness, I left in my late teens. My brother stayed. I recently took care of my mother up until the day she passed last year. My mom loved her congregation and they loved her until she became ill and needed 24 hour care. I could feel how they felt about me when ever they would stop by for a short visit. I wrote my mom’s celebration of life. I just wanted to share some memories of my mom. I was told that due to me not being a witness that myself, her only daughter was not allowed to speak in the Kingdom Hall. Literally shattered me. I will not go into the child abuse I endured and was sent away at 12 years old per the elders orders. I would love to talk with you and others.
My dude.... I feel you, I woke up two months ago, been watching so many you tube videos and my man I'm glad you left... I'm agnostic myself.. I need receipts... 😅Sending hugs...
The saddest part for me regarding the JW cult is that they harm so many people’s spiritual perspectives. Most (not all) ex JWs denounce religion altogether after leaving the cult due to being lied to, manipulated and misled. Prayerfully things will change for them.
Grew up in a Jehovahs Witness family and at 24 years old I finally got the courage to tell my grandmother that I'm just not connecting with them and that i was running away from actually growing spiritually because of JW and all their beliefs, being on my own spiritual journey and doing things differently made me grow closer to God outside everything that came with being a Jehovahs Witness i didnt realize how different things were until I was on my own journey. I'm so glad decided to fully let go and not pretend just to make my family happy.
