On the air with Yuriy Lutsenko, we talk about his combat path, possible negotiations with Russia, failures in preparing for new air threats, problems with defense financing and billion-dollar Fire Point contracts.
Where is the line drawn between the need to negotiate an end to the war and concessions that Ukraine cannot agree to? We discuss the debate that is increasingly sharp in society: peace at any cost, capitulation or continuation of the war until the maximum possible conditions for Ukraine are achieved. Lutsenko defends the thesis that peace should be demanded from the authorities, but negotiations should be conducted from a position of strength.
A separate major topic is the air war. How did Ukraine find itself in a situation where jet drones have become a new serious threat? Lutsenko criticizes the preparation of the Ministry of Defense and explains what decisions, in his opinion, should have been made earlier.
We also talk about the prospects for countering new types of attacks and his skeptical assessment of the possibility of creating a full-fledged Ukrainian anti-ballistic system in the near future.
All this is happening against the backdrop of problems with defense financing. We are talking about about $ 27 billion of unmet needs and where the state should look for money to continue the war.
Another large block is Fire Point. State contracts for the purchase of unmanned systems from the company over two years amounted to more than UAH 107 billion.
Lutsenko raises the question: what did the state receive for this money, how to evaluate the implementation of defense programs and where is the line drawn between supporting private defense production and the need for maximum transparency during the war?
We also talk about political responsibility. Lutsenko expresses the opinion that the end of the war will inevitably change the political configuration in Ukraine, and discusses whether this can affect the decisions of the current government.
Separately - about the Russian strategy of strikes in the rear and attempts to use economic and social problems to increase internal discontent.
The main question of the broadcast: how can Ukraine simultaneously seek a path to peace, not lose its position of strength and prevent corruption, management failures and wrong priorities from weakening the country's defense?
