In May 2025, I went to Kaohsiung in Taiwan. As usual, I went without a plan, but it turned out to be an amazing trip – so much fun, delicious food, and incredibly friendly people!

After returning home, I looked it up and saw some blogs saying Kaohsiung wasn't worth the trip, but honestly, I personally found it more comfortable than Taipei, and the people were incredibly kind. It's peaceful, inexpensive, and delicious. If you're going to Taiwan, I highly recommend extending your trip to Kaohsiung, as it's only an hour and a half away by high-speed train!

And if you're going to Kaohsiung, be sure to visit Cijin as well. I highly recommend visiting the seafood restaurant featured in this video!
