Riftbound Rotation EXPLAINED: Set 10, Reprints, Your Old Cards
Turn 'em Sideways!
Riot's Riftbound Game Director Dave Guskin sat down with us at the Los Angeles Regional Qualifier and gave the first clear rotation timeline: Sets 1 to 5 and Proving Grounds leave Standard when Set 10 releases at the start of 2028, and overnumbered reprints like the Heartsteel Sett do not reset a card's legality.
He also covers the Regional Championship meta with Origins and Spiritforged cards back in, whether the Best-Of system hides problems, bad apples at Nexus Nights, Riot's long-term commitment to Riftbound, choice restrictions vs bans, a Valorant card game, control decks and Ezreal, playtesting, two-cost dragons, Warwick, Viego, Mordekaiser, and the socks question you made us ask.

How do we know Anne, kaisa Ahri etc aren’t the best deck when few people play them cause of the lack of best of? And it’ll just get worse as the game goes on
