On August 26, 2026, a massive section of a glacier collapsed in the Himalayas, along with the bedrock beneath it, triggering a devastating flash flood in Nepal. But Nepal isn't the only place where gigantic landslides and geological changes are currently making headlines: In Norway, a mountainside is threatening to plunge into a fjord, Alaska has already been hit by a massive wave, millions of cubic meters of rock are shifting in Switzerland, and a huge fissure has opened up in the ground in Sicily. In this supercut, we'll take a look at some of the most spectacular and dangerous geological events of recent times and explain the science behind them.
