Back in the 60's I use to sell newspapers in restaurants and bars. I met a few female impersonators, Transvestites, burlesque girls and prostitutes in my neighborhood. These were really the nicest people who took care of me growing up. There was never anything sexual, but I've seen them undressed changing. They even help me with my homework. I have great respect for these people.

Refreshing to be reminded of a time when you could engage in conversation, ask questions and be curious without receiving backlash and a hissy fit.

They speak so well not like the garbage in 2026.

Intelligent, intellectual. No rude culture. So nice no vulgarity.

I love that doctor that explained to the interviewer about the clinical aspects of transitioning at that time- he was gently progressive and compassionate decades ahead of his time and is still further ahead intellectually than the vast majority of physicians today. He was not radically “liberal”, or political in any way, rather, just socially and emotionally intelligent.

Great that documentaries, like this one, have survived so that they can then be shared on platforms like YouTube, for all to see. Thank you for the upload.

When it boils right down to it we all just need to mind our own business.
Live your life and leave others to live theirs as well.

So strong and heroic in the early 1970's.

Their courage, strength, and honesty are admirable. I hope they all lived happy lives. ❤❤

It’s so nice that they found each other and formed such strong friendships. When you have good friends then it’s easier to care less what the rest of the world thinks ❤

We need a “where are they now” episode.

We have not moved so much from that. How shameful we are as a society. All human beings are creatures of Godand deserve respect and live their lives as they see fit.

For those of you who are wondering, the name of that closing song Niccole did at the end is "I Don't Know How To Love Him" as sung by Helen Reddy (the link to it is provided in the video description)

It's alarming how dumbed-down and atrocious 2026 vernacular has become.

A.J.W Taylor, Clinical Psychologist passed away in 2021. He was absolutely light years ahead of his time x
