There is a place on Earth so remote…
That reaching it takes days at sea.
And even when you arrive… You still might not be able to land.
Because this island doesn’t just exist far away.
It resists being reached.
This is Pitcairn Island.
In this video, we go inside the most isolated permanently inhabited place on the planet—a volcanic island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean where fewer than 50 people live today.
No airport. No harbor. No roads that lead anywhere.
Just one small community… surviving completely on its own.
But what makes this island truly unbelievable…
Is how it began.
We break down the story of the HMS Bounty mutiny—one of the most famous rebellions in history—and how a group of fugitives escaped the British Navy, found this island, and burned their ship to make sure they could never leave.
Because from that moment on…
Everything had to be built from nothing.
Food. Shelter. A society.
And what followed wasn’t the peaceful paradise most people imagine.
It was a conflict. Violence. Survival.
Until only one man remained—and rebuilt the community from the ground up.
But Pitcairn isn’t just history.
It’s still here. Right now.
We take you inside what daily life actually looks like—from growing food and collecting rainwater to repairing critical systems with no outside help, and living in a place where the entire population knows each other by name.
And then there’s the part most people don’t know.
The dark chapter that changed the island forever—and forced the world to confront what can happen when a community is left completely isolated for too long.
Because Pitcairn isn’t just a story about survival.
It’s a story about what isolation really does.
So now the question is—
Can a place like this continue to exist in the modern world… or is it slowly reaching the end of its story?
Watch till the end—and decide for yourself.

As child in the fifties, our neighbour was from Pitcairn Island. I still to this day can remember the lilt in her speach (very old english with strange word use from polynesia).
Pitcairn is not that remote. Just fly to Mangareva and catch the supply ship which does a weekly return service to Pitcairn most of the year except when the ship does a run down to NZ. It only takes 36hours for the ship to go from French Polynesia to the British External Territory of Pitcairn Island.
The remoteness is not in distance (550kms approx) but in cost to travel there.
Tristan da Cunha wins the remoteness island title unless you are a french scientist stationed on the Kerguelen Island (non permanent residents).
There you go, that's my tome.
