Really? Citing Zeus as justification? Someone should have told Doug what Ares did to the son of Poseidon who assaulted one of his daughters.

Re:  Doug
Good for Carrie.  She paid attention and undid his BS with the game itself.  I'd welcome her to any table she'd like to play at.

Why are guys like Rick always the ones who suddenly die, while absolute heathens like Doug are allowed to live?

How the Doug Story part one should have ended after he tries to sexually assault another player: The DM states "Your character fades out of existence. It's as if they were never there. Please leave before I make you leave."

I do find these stories funny but so frustrating in how passive so many people are... (if its even true ofc!)

Doug needs to be on a list. He gave away that his mind is searching for circumstances he feels are “justified” to live out his SA fantasy. He will escalate.

The FBI should probably take a look at Doug's computer for, uh, "images".

the fact hes trying to say just because zeus screws everything in a skirt while shape shifting that his changling is allowed to just made not a lick of sense, last i checked it wasnt considered ok in the case of zeus either they just legit had no way to call him out in mythology as he was king of the gods

I now have an idea for a knock-off magic item: The Deck of Manny's Things. Drawing a card summons a random item owned by some specific guy named Manny (he made a deal with fae and now his stuff just randomly disappears sometimes)

on the "same character every game" story. I have a friend who, for years, only played a variation on the same theme: Grizzled badass, knife fighter with a skull mask. He eventually got out of that comfort zone and tried other things. I think by having me and some other friends who always played wildly different characters each game. Never pushed him to try something different. He had enough self awareness to realize he had been doing the same thing over and over. So, when he got it out of his system and started trying new things, he had a lot of fun. I'll never forget his jolly bavarian swordfighter.

Doug needs to get his actual walnuts cracked

Doug that's not being a Trickery cleric, you're just being an ass.

Deck of Many Things is a hard no for any campaign I'm in. It's something you play around with when you're playing in high school, but it does indeed pretty much ruin any campaign.

Welp I’m off to honor the absolute chad of a man Rick as my next BG3 cleric.  From a fellow cleric to another, I bid him a peaceful journey in the hereafter, may he continue to protect us all.

I can't believe DougDoug would do such a thing. Heartbroken. 💔

“ got any single friends who can join?” “Sure I know this great burly gay guy who would love to meet you”

Re deck of many things story: I'm always more suspect of OP's that state they were the one kicked from the game with only a vague explanation as to why. Feels like they're just omitting something.

Having a Deck of Many Things, even a "modified' one, is like a DM pulling a pin on a grenade, then running away from the table. They are designed to destroy campaigns.

My DM gave me a Deck of Many Things, mostly as a joke I think (we were near the end of the campaign and at level 20 as is), and my character went "Eff that!" and basically shoved it in her pocket to never use it lol (she held onto it specifically so no one else could use it either)

The deck of many things has never NOT ruined a game. It seems like a great idea in theory and it always falls apart in practice.

Deck: "its just not worth it" no one is forceing them to use it...
