"The last normal day we've ever had" - that really made me stop.  How utterly heart-breaking for this poor family.

I'm friends with Alex on Facebook and it's horrendous that Derek and Terry have both passed away without knowing anything. I dearly hope he is found one day and Alex and the remaining family can get closure. Due to the mysterious nature of this, I still hope he is alive somewhere. That's all you can do. Alex is so strong, bless her. Come on, whoever knows what happened, come forward, and stop being a complete coward! Give the family the answers they need

I wouldn't be surprised that the disappearance of Kevin Hicks is link to Sidney Cooke and/or  the 'Dirty Dozen' gang.

The devastation murders like this have on remaining family members can never be underestimated. Absolutely tragic. Love this channel. Very well presented indeed. Congratulations.

If it was unusual for Kevin to not take his bicycle as is mentioned here, then I think this was because he knew he was getting into a car, possibly for a short ride somewhere with someone. Perhaps they said they would drop him home but clearly they never did.

Monsters really do exist and walk amongst us.

I hope he is found and his body recovered for a decent burial. Somebody must know something. Poor lad.

There are some interesting events around this case. Kevin left the house after dark, and did not take his keys with him. That could have been because he was going to Bingham Park, and keys can get lost in the dark.
Another boy at the time,  a friend of Kevin, who used to go around with him on bikes,  said that local men used to hang out in a Bingham Park, as it was called by locals, after dark, the evening, talking to boys, and one of those men worked at the Co-Op.

That park was near to the shop he said he was going to buy eggs, which like the police, I believe was an excuse to go out. Kevin also worked at the Co-Op at the weekends, so he would have known that man.

After Kevin went missing, a woman, who also worked at the Co-Op said that she saw Kevin at 10 pm that night, in Shirley Road, walking in the general direction of home. She said she saw him as she was leaving the pub.
A boy called Simon said, "I worked at the co-op at the time and I remember Kevin because he worked there as a Saturday boy".
"I don't recall the police ever asking anyone who worked there if they knew anything about his disappearance".

There was also another cruising ground near to the back of where Kevin lived, that he could have walked through on his way home, after being seen in Shirley Road. Lorry drivers used to park there all night.


On 25 October 1996 a woman anonymously called the Croydon Advertiser, and said she knew where Kevin's body was.
She never called back. Could that have been the woman who worked at the Co-Op.
Did she say she saw Kevin, walking towards his home at 10pm, to protect someone.  Was she covering for a friend, or relative, at the Co-Op. It would be good to trace where all the men who worked at the Co-Op lived at that time.

So many  young  teens dead and missing  out there somewhere   i would one day like to see  a massive search by the public  for the missing

I had a family member go missing for two months, It was horrific, I couldn't sleep, Every thought in my head was about them and where they could be, Were they hurt? Had someone taken them? I had a none stop migraine, couldn't eat, That was two months, I can't begin to imagine how a family copes when someone never gets found and there is no trace, clue or evidence. Two months for me, Forever for them. I can't imagine their pain.
