Troubleshooting Husqvarna/Craftsman LGT2654 starting issue. We need fuel, air and spark to start. Most common cause is fuel supply so after looking we can see that we are not getting a proper supply of fuel to the carb.

The main suspect turned out to be part# 793147 (vacuum hose) that had a cut on it.

The secondary suspect was part number 808656 (gas pump). I'm fairly certain that replacing the just vacuum hose would have fixed this. However, I had two suspects and I was only going to the store once :)

After watching your video I tapped my fuel pump and it started up. I give you credit for that!

Most times it's a vacuum hose line with cracks in it. Why replace the fuel pump?

I have a stupid question, but the motor is a Kohler does the fuel pump and hose use Briggs and Straton

How about a 23 hp motor that runs good but always needs a little shot of starting fluid to start. Fires 1 time on initial crank then nothing. Run engine for an hour but still needs starting fluid to start after shutting off. Cleaned the fuel solenoid already.

Hey, I have the same mower that wont start but I noticed there is no fuel at all coming through the filter. So if I spray .some starting fluid directly in the carb. it should still sputter correct? Even if it doesn't run, it should still sputter with some start fluid because I checked for spark and I have spark across the plug when I checked it. I just cant figure why I see no fuel inside the filter as Im continually turning it over and if the fuel pump is bad like yours was, it should still react to some start fluid direct to the carb. thanks for any insight.

Hello Artev, I have the same mower LG2654. Mower will start and will mow 1 acre. If I turn it off, then try to start, it will stutter and won't start. Sometimes it completely dies. Had previously replaced solenoid, ignition switch, and both spark plug coils and still doing this. Could it still be a fuel problem?
