Really enjoyed that one. Can’t go wrong with tool videos. I’ve never regretted spending money on decent kit, but often wished I hadn’t ‘cheeped’ out.

Fantastic review that covered everything I want to know about the different sets of screwdrivers here and what different sizes came with the different sets.

Cousins UK you can buiy the Bergeon 9 screwdriver set in cardboard box and then the circular holder separately for over £100 cheaper than buying the set with them together! A money saving tip 😊

Tool education videos are great. Thanks for the vid

Hi Barry, this is really useful  thank you. I don't see the coloured caps as being decorative actually, they colour code the different sizes making the job quicker. You mentioned torque when tightening screws: don't you guys use torque wrenches? I would have thought that for critical screw tightness it would be essential. You don't want to strip a thread on a unique Patek Philippe for example.

In the 1970s (yes, I'm ancient...) I bought a set of Wit screwdrivers and a screwed case back opening tool from Carterton Watch Supplies in Oxfordshire, which was really close to the school where I worked. The company doesn't seem to exist now, and Wit tools aren't mentioned these days either.

Anyway, again thanks for the really informative video, have a good week, VG Bob 🍾🥂

On my side I would recommend the Bergeon 55-613, it will last you 2 lifetimes, been using it professionaly for decades

I went with Cousins own branded and they're ok but have one blade stuck in its hole that won't come out LOL

I’ve learnt from experience that if in doubt, Bergeons budget stuff will see you through pretty much anything and it’s worthwhile paying the small bit extra for longevity you get over cheaper stuff.
my first movement holder worked but felt flimsy and fell apart after a year but my £25 Bergeon one feels great and has lasted ages without fault

Great review. Have you tried the VOH screwdrivers? They’re even more expensive than Bergeon, but they are even better. For a professional, I think they’re worth the extra cost.

VOH also supply steel wedge shaped tips, hollow ground HSS and even bronze tips.

So glad you did this video.
I got a Horotec set and had a couple of issues.
It was 60/80/100/120/140/200 set, but I found I needed the 160 and 180 more so had to buy them separately.
The other thing is that I find the tips too narrow, which means they wiggle around in the slot and will damage screw and tip if they do not fit snugly.
Also more likely to slip I guess?
What am I doing wrong? Do I need thicker tips?

My experience as a plumber is that quality tools do a quality job.
Have a Horotec duel ended tool that has a springbar tool at one end and a pushpin one at the other.
Made the mistake of thinking the springbar end was the pushpin end recently on a clasp and it didn't end well!

Do you use a diamond file or a stone for sharpening?

I prefer Kwong Yuen to Bergeon.

Horotec is best they have ball bearings
