I have an old Remington single shot model 514... the most accurate .22 rifle I ever owned.

Enjoy all of your videos. You have a beautiful place to shoot there, and you do an excellent job of producing your videos. I love .22  rimfires, especially the vintage ones. Remington and Winchester both made some fine rifles back in the day, as did Marlin and Stevens, and High Standard made a few for Sears under the J.C. Higgins brand name. Take care of yourself, and keep doing what you're doing. Great video!

We have a marlin wood bolt action with peep site. I grew up hunting with it, well we'll just say MANY MANY moons ago. As it was Dad's, he got me the Remington Mohawk nylon 66 when I was a bit older. That was such a lightweight and short fun gun.  He passed the Marlin to my youngest at 8 yrs old, 2 yrs ago. My personal varmint critter getter for the farm is my remington model 60 now with a 3-9 Simmons 30mm scope. Great at gathering light for nighttime.

That's a nice Remington.  I have a Remington 514 single shot 22, that my Grandmother bought for my dad with the old green stamp program.

Love your .22 Series! As you emphasized, ammo testing is invaluable for any serious shooting. About 25 years ago, I obtained a supply of RWS 40gr. std vel hollow points which shoots magnificently in several of my favorite bolt guns and have been rationing it ever since, No plinking,,,  With ammo, like about everything, we tend to get what we pay for. Fortunately, steel and cans dont care!      Plese keep up these great vids. We appreciate your expertise and efforts. (Now I'm trying to locate my mushroom reference books...)        Pax

Since I own quite a number of vintage .22’s, comparisons like this should make for some interesting range sessions.

Thanks for your video.  I really like seeing those vintage .22 lr rifles.  It reminds me of when I was a kid back in the 1960's when every boy who enjoyed shooting and hunting dreamed of owning a Marlin model 39A.

The little copper bullet, is just puts another dent in our 2 Ammendment.

ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO from a man with a similar PASSION as myself!!!😮😅 I've been a BIG 22lr AFICIONADO for a LONG TIME, IT BIT ME more than 60 years ago when I got my brother's Remington Nylon 66 in Seneca Green (I wish I knew how RARE it was before I sold it back in 1966)!!!😮😢😢😢 We were moving and mom said I wouldn't have anywhere to shoot it, little did she know that was INCORRECT!!!😮😢😢😢 It wasn't until recently that I had the OPPORTUNITY to expand and explore the WORLD OF 22lr rifles and pistols!! For ME pistols are more PERSONAL because of their potential use of PROTECTION but there are SO MANY NEAT AND COOL RIFLES out there because of the fact that 22 caliber is the OLDEST cartridge and I have a few that predates the turn of the CENTURY!!!😮😅  Remington Rolling Block #4 solid frame in 22lr and #1 1/2 in 22lr!!!😮😅  I've got a couple of preWW2 Mauser trainers single shots in 22lr in very nice collection, they don't make 22lrs like this anymore unless you SHELL OUT BIG BUCKS!!! I'm have to do what you have done (test all my 22lrs to find out which to keep and which to let go, got TOO MANY and I'm almost 74 and don't know how much longer I have on this planet)?!!!😮😢 UNFORTUNATELY I don't have my own range in my back yard and the closest range (indoor 75' 10miles away, outdoor 100+yds over 80 miles)!!!😮😢 Thank you for your interesting and informative videos and PROMOTING the SECOND AMENDMENT!!!😮😅😅😅😅❤❤ Oh I almost forgot to mention that I recently picked up on a DAISEY 22lr (10shot rotary mag similar to a Ruger 10/22 but smaller with WOOD FURNITURE, micro-grove rifling like Marlin) for $225 in VG condition!!!😮😅❤ They were made from 1988-1991, not many people know about them and not that many made!!!😅😅😅❤

My first 22 was a Rem Model 12, wish I still had it. My 2nd 22  purchased 45 years ago, I went to the dark side and got a Savage/Anschutz 54M. Put on a Bosch and Lomb Elite 4000 scope. Still shoots as great as the day i got it.
Thanks for all the great info you provide.

Old 22s with wood stocks.

Another excellent video. Good testing, nice to match up the ammo with the rifle. Thank you.

GREAT INFO THANK YOU SIR

Great content brother

Very informative video

Great comparison video, but no matter what your shooting activities might be, we can always count on you to bring out the most gorgeous rifles to test with! Love your collection Sir!  Cheers,  Steve

I didn't think I would enjoy this gun video so much after wondering about the word .22 Rifle, which I saw in a comment during night rat hunts in the field. Thanks for the velvet voice narration!

Nice groups, Great Video!
My Marlin model 60, CZ 457 Jaguar, Winchester model 74, Wards Westerfield 87a, Remington 550-1 & Remington 572 group well like that also at 50 yards with Remington golden bucket. So I decided to pick up a few more buckets of it over the last year. They also do well with the Federal AutoMatch.
You and a few others here on YouTube have inspired me to look into older ones and thankfully most are used so I can try them out at my local place before buying. All of them so far are ones my kids and I are very happy with. They all shoot so well and have each their own personalities. Including our pistols. Thanks!!

I prefer the old Mossberg .22 rifles over Winchester or Remington for many reasons.

Good stuff!  Love those beautiful rifles!
