Tip for going between photo and video, you don't have to scroll through the whole list. If you are in photo and press up, then you get to video. If you are in video and press down, you get to photo.

After watching quite a lot of X100VI reviews, I have to say a lot of YouTubers just surfed the trend and didn't bring much to the table, but you just said what I needed to hear. Very well spoken, calm speech but profound. I placed my order, thanks!

Really appreciated this heartfelt and thought-provoking video. I really chimed with the whole thing of wishing you had a camera with you all the time that isn't just a phone but not wanting to lug a FF camera and lenses around, especially on walks. Almost every day if I go for a walk without a camera, there are at least half of dozen moments where I wish I had one!  Thank you.

My main camera is a Canon R3 with a range of RF-L lenses, I don't often take it out unless it's a specific photography day, I recently bought the X100VI (Silver cos it looks cool) and I take it everywhere, it has renewed my enthusiasm for photography because it's such a nice thing to use, I feel like the 15 year old me back in the 70s when I got my first "Proper" camera (Zenith E)

I am a retired pro. With all the huge amount of photos everywhere I quit two years ago from taking any pictures. I left all my pro gear in the drawers. I lost the sense and meaning of the photography. Your honesty and even your naive way of put yourself into creativity ... has made me to reconsider going back to retake my X100F,   for now, ... all the rest of my fuji stuff : XT3 , Nikon D750 and the premium lenses ... will remain resting... (Anyway: Suscribed)

It's amazing to me how poignant to me your stories are. Nearly all the things you are struggling with are exactly what I'm struggling with as an emerging photographer, and I get so much inspiration from hearing someone's experience and thoughts about how to move forward. Something I would like to suggest for a future video is in-camera recipes vs post production presets.  Pros vs cons of each.

I take my X100V everywhere. I waited a decade for the right X100 to be released.  The V brought (1) Weather sealing (2) sharp lens.   If I was buying today they I'd get the VI but it doesn't bring anything that makes me want to upgrade.
Basically it's a joy to use and 90% of my favourite photos over the last 2 years were taken on it.

I have the X100T with the legendary X-TransII sensor, it doesn't have all the new bells and whistles of the newer ones but the fun shooting experience is still there and is a lot cheaper that a V or VI

Thank you Rick. This is one of the most genuine and heartfelt youtube video I have come across. I am nearly in my retirement age and have had a successful but quite stressful career with its associated implication on mental health. I love photography but always have been constrained, as you mentioned, due to the size of the  camera. The really small ones do not have all the functionalities to use manual mode or experiment and the good ones, even Leica Q3, are just too big to hang around your neck and go to the supermarket or something similar. And you are so correct in saying that there is no point in having a fantastic camera unless you can carry it everyday and everywhere. I am going to follow your advice and take the camera out everywhere from now on and try to look around me to find inspiration. As you again said, I might take dozens of lousy pictures but there will be some that I like and the whole process will be uplifting as well. That surely will help my currently fragile mental health too. Thanks, mate.

I'm actually so glad to see photos taken with an X100VI that AREN'T taken in Japan. 😂 Literally the most cringe aspect of X100VI shooters is their incessant compulsion to document exclusively Japan with it.

Another great and insightful video, Rick, and it’s given me the answer to being more active with my photography, having found I was only using my larger kit on holidays! When I find employment again, I will be looking for a camera such as the one featured here. Thank you!
