“YOU’RE STEALING HER WORK!”
Gayton McKenzie is facing backlash after claiming credit for the government’s response on the illegal immigration issue, with critics arguing that Jacinta Ngobese and her campaign had already been pushing the issue and demanding a response from government.
The controversy has now turned into a fight over who actually forced the issue onto the government’s agenda. Supporters of Jacinta argue that her efforts created pressure long before Gayton stepped forward to claim credit for the response.
The question being asked online is simple: did Gayton McKenzie actually drive the government response, or is he taking credit for work that Jacinta and others had already been doing?
Watch the full breakdown as we unpack the “fake Abahambe” controversy and the battle over who deserves credit.
