About: Satisfactory

Satisfactory is a first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat. Pioneering for FICSIT Incorporated means charting and exploiting an alien planet, battling alien lifeforms, creating multi-story factories, entering conveyor belt heaven, automating vehicles, and researching new technologies.
This Factorio like game has heavy automation, with automated mining, crafting, and you can even automate movement!

So will you be using the Probe method in your builds?

For the first time, I begin to understand your perspective on design. Over the years, I watched some of your videos marveling at the grand architectural designs, but never understanding why you did this other than as a content creator. I have had to rebuild too many manufacturing lines, so the idea of spending time to beautify something that would get destroyed seemed incomprehensible. And then I built my first rocket fuel factory with all alt recipes, which is the optimal build for this requiring 288 fuel-powered generators. This was my first experience building something I knew would never need to be torn down. And for the first time, I found the joy in beautifying what I had built. In short, until that point, I could not understand your perspective. I took real pleasure in exploring what I could do to make this facility something worth looking at ... for the joy of it. Along the way, I had to learn the necessity of dimensional depots and the bizarre Satisfactory physics for fluids thanks to the lucid explanations of Dekoba (highly recommend as there's nothing intuitive about it). Thank you.

You said "blink" so I blinked. Then you said "and you'll miss it" and I cursed my wretched soul.

9:17 Using page up and page down you can vertically nudge stuff now, and holding control, you can nudge 0.5m increments, which is quite handy.

So, fun thing you can do with water extractors. You can snap them to pipe junctions while holding down ctrl to avoid needing to place foundations underwater ... particularly useful when your dealing with water just deep enough to place an extractor in but too shallow to place a foundation

22:33 You can move even faster if you hold the C button down constantly, not just before jumping, and jump as soon as you touch the ground (and again: don't release the C button even after jumping).

The process of creating an acronym by working backwards is called, appropriately, a backronym.

If you slide and jump quickly with a jet pack on, you can get to skipping faster than anything you can drive. When you get up to speed, use a burst on the jet pack and you can fly surprisingly far, fairly fast.

There is a boost to the slide-jump, yes. It is a little tricky to trigger. Instead of holding the slide button, you just quickly tap it while jumping. This is what gives the boost. If you hold it too long, it'll switch to a normal slide-jump distance
the faster you can do tapping of the slide button and jump, the faster you'll get the boosted boost jump
the added bonus on the cake, is that if you do just right, even while going up a hill it'll work instead of resetting your momentum to zero with a normal slide-jump
but that's even more tricky to get timed right

14:07 hell yeah, I started playing in 1.1 and it felt like bunny hopping in half life and CS

Head bump FX made me laugh out loud during a meeting at work.

You may already know, but just in case, you can put up to 4 fuel generators in a mk2 blueprint if you put the inputs each pair with the inputs one in front on the other, connect FIRST the inputs by a pipe and put the junction on the pipe,

i get why xclipse always says he doesnt want to fear cats 24:34

@agent-a-br 1 year ago

Insanely underrated, these are just other levels of gameplay, thank you for this

@Xero1of1 1 year ago

55:22 It's 'sloshing' inside the pipes. I had the same issue. Put a valve at the start of your manifolds to the generators, and ensure they're set to 5-10 more than is needed by the generators. Think it it as a 1% adder (+1 fuel in the valve for everyone 100 fuel needed. So if you need 100 fuel in a manifold, set the valve to 101) and then add a small fluid buffer at the end if you have short runs of pipes. If it's longer, the pipe itself is sufficient as a buffer.

Figuring out resources on a regional level is a key late midgame mindset. Grasslands is a good example, 2 pure coal can make 1800 steel, and the rest of the iron (4200) and limestone makes a 50 heavy modular frame factory. Assuming mk2 miners overclocked. And reg smelters, wet concrete optional

Your channel has inspired me to install this game again after not playing it for many years. Also im building a power plant atm & this has given me so many ideas.. thanks for posting this work of Art.

43:50 I always watch you create blueprints and think to myself "my production and depot storage of quartz won't like that". 😂
55:02 At least I see that not being able to get the full 600 throughput for a mark 2 pipe isn't just a "me" problem. I have similar problems with rocket fuel which doesn't need pumps.

@Pygmay 1 year ago (edited)

Your video is just in time, I have started to plan for "Mega Aluminium" and "Mega Quartz" factories, and later "Mega Oil", and I just installed the train and I'm not sure how to approach the core of the facilities, so I hope your video will inspire me ! Thank you for adding the decoration part it was perfect for ideas
EDIT : And you're right ! Bunny hoping accelerates, I've noticed it too so I'm using the Jet pack more !
