Gholam manages to procure the necessary medication for his mother, yet despite taking it, she remains ill, and her physical condition has become a source of deep concern for the family.

Amidst this, Nafiseh persists in her conflict with Showkat. She once again brings up the issue of Showkat’s inability to conceive, tormenting her with bitter taunts and reproaches. Tensions between the two women flare up again, filling the household with discord and distress.

Just as these clashes are unfolding, Gholam is released and returns home. He is shocked to see his mother’s ailing condition, though she is overjoyed and thrilled the moment she lays eyes on her son.

Nafiseh continues to blame Showkat for their troubles, but this time Gholam cannot treat Showkat as he once did; he has pledged never to raise a hand against her again.

With Gholam’s return, the atmosphere at home settles somewhat. He decides to set up a new area for keeping and trading livestock, so a builder arrives to begin construction.
