I see a Robert Sapolsky video and I instantly click like. I had no free will in the matter ☺

Deja Shoe: You're an Old Sole

Great episode. I was lukewarm on the titular topics but, as in most cases, was wonderfully surprised by the content.

I really appreciate your mentions of other people's work in these fields. I followed up this episode with talks by Daniel Polvinelli and Simon Baron Cohen here on yt.  Thank you for past mentions of Frans de Waal and Sarah Blaffer Hrdy's work. So eye opening.

I feel like you've opened the door to the chance to take all sorts of silly old 'explanations' of human behavior and toss them aside so we can all face together how complex the questions are. Thank you.

This was the most heart warming way to describe autistic psychology. Thanks!

Excellent episode!  Thanks so much for your gifts to science and for sharing them with us!

good morning Sapolsky family 💙🌏

Thank you for sharing your  brain with  me! Love all your courses too ❤

Rewatching this and getting Deja-vu

My grandmother had a stroke that left her in a state of permanent Deja vu.  We took her out to dinner and she said, “Every time we go here to eat every one of these people is here and they always sit in the same seats.”

I am a pattern seeker.

Professor was on fire on this episode.    Thanks for sharing.

I am so pleased and relieved to finally see that someone in this world doesn’t hate on Simon Baron-Cohen for breaking stereotypes!  (By the way, autism is NOT a disease or disorder, any more than being black or gay is a “disease”).  Diversity is actually a very healthy thing!  Maybe the mainstream will move past their fear of the unknown and embrace the group that has innovated and contributed more to humanity than any other neurotype (autistic people).

I have learned so much from Robert Sapolsky, and still believe in the built-in error correction of science that simply doesn’t exist with “common sense”.  (Perhaps “Mainstream” is a “stream”, because it is too shallow to be a “river”).

Always an excellent collection of explanations. 😊👍

As always thankyou very much. Very valuable!

Beautiful description of autism!

I swear I've seen this video before.

I have epilepsy and have déjà vu episodes, when I don’t take my medicine. I have the strongest possible feeling that “ I’ve seen this all before “. These déjà vu episodes are physically very uncomfortable.

Good morning sir Sapolsky

Deja Vu was my favorite character in "Top Secret", he was also great as the butler at "Downton Abbey"....Some of my most memorable instances of Deja Vu are when random occurrences within a dream from months earlier suddenly come true in a conversation in real life much later. The issue is why was my mind being "psychic" for this random meaningless moment of words and people that is unmistakeable? I wish I journaled my dreams so I could know exact times between when I dreamed it and when the Deja Vu happens. It's only been a few times, but clearly moments from dreams I had much earlier!

I also am an Autism-spectrum-haver, instead of instant counting of toothpicks on the floor, my gift is a granular awareness of my whole nervous system including being able to map out the perceptive set across both sides . I'd love to email the Doc one day to figure out if this is really provable in an MRI or something, could just be my over-active imagination. I don't want to bother yall with my stuff, anyway. Keep up the great videos!
