Swatkatts was a turning point. It was original, action packed and had quality animation

People who don't consider Tom and Jerry part of Hanna Barbera Family should be ashamed of themselves. They were made by Bill and Joe for MGM but they also made a TJ series under their HB company in 1975. And Turner bought both HB and MGM so they are under the same roof so you should stop placing T&J as their own brand or MGM. Bill and Joe would want us to recognize Tom and Jerry as a Hanna Barbera cartoon.

these were total masterpieces because of the character animation and all the bells and whistles because of the skills of the creators and their teams.

It all began with an Oscar-winning cat and mouse, then grew into an empire of prime time and saturday morning laughs.

I was born in 1960. I grew up on Hanna-Barbera. I would like to mention The new adventures of Huckleberry Finn. You need to talk about that. Live action with animation. I heard that HB was behind the American Classics series. My favorite was The Tales of Washington Irving. MeTVToons is airing the House of Hanna-Barbera, The Yogi Bear Show and The Huckleberry Hound Show.

I got to meet Janet Waldo when Battle of the Planets was being remastered and put out on DVD and they had a signing at SDCC with her, Ronnie Schell (who is actually from the same city as I am), and the legendary Casey Kasem.

Also it's worth noting that while they did diversify the Justice League with characters like Apache Chief and Black Vulcan...Black Vulcan was created specifically because they were going to use the existing character Black Lightning, but Tony Isabella's contract with DC was such that they'd have to get his permission, so they just made an obvious rip off.

This was truly the best documentary of all the astounding hard work by all the Hannah Barbera team, but really really shows the genius that both Bill and Joe had from the very beginning, and how popular all the HB characters were, and still are to this day (2025) I'm 52 and grew up adoring all their work and have fan-arted nearly every character over the years. Thank you SO much for all your hard work, it was great to relive so many old memories, but especially to learn so many things that I didn't know too. Fantastic! ❤❤❤❤

"Images like this, are not ok" man, im from México and we love this Cartoons and we (in latinamerica) dont have any issues with black stereotypes. I understand thats a USA issue but, for us, are very fun and "totally ok".

2:36:32, Technically, Fred Flintstone was a Guest Star on Billy and Mandy.
Same with various Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Characters (like Scooby-Doo, The Flintstones, Blue-Falcon, Huckleberry Hound, Frankenstein Jr., Hong Kong Phooey, who was mentioned, and JabberJaw) appearing on Johnny Bravo afew times before.
