as cliche as it is to say it does get better as time goes on! hope you’re feeling a bit more settled now, and i would really recommend talking to the careers team at your uni and asking their opinion on switching courses and when the realistic deadline would be so you don’t have to repeat the first year unless that’s something you’re open to if you switched later in the year! they are so so helpful and this is what they’re here for ❤
When I was a student at Bristol University it was 1993-96, and the big band at that time was the Prodigy, now I know none of the music on this video was actually the Prodigy, however it was really in the same style as the Prodigy, it's like Bristol has been a hole in time where the Prodigy's spirit lives.
I feel you so much, I moved to college at 19 and my first week was pretty much about partying or feeling anxious and lost, crying about being so homesick, it gets better by time
You're doing great. It's natural to love it there sometimes and never want to leave and hate it there sometimes and want to go home. I knew you'd make a lot of new friends because you're awesome and I don't see how anybody could not like you. You can always go home for a few days when you need a break too. Don't worry about whether you picked the right course either- a lot of famous directors like Steven Spielberg or Christopher Nolan took courses unrelated to film and Quentin Tarantino never even went to uni and even dropped out of high school. For what you want to do what matters is talent and being driven and being smart and you have a ton of all 3- a course like yours that's related to film can only help and maybe you could even still ask to switch to film making if you want to or go to film school once you graduate.
