What appeals to me with Moto Guzzi is the character and heritage, the shaft drive and the looks. I prefer the smaller amount of complexity found in the 23 plate models but that is just my opinion after watching the Guzzi videos. Thanks for this review.

Very good review. I have done 1200k on my V7 sport and it's been brilliant. I don't notice a huge difference between Sport and Road modes except it sounds throatier on acceleration above 3000rpm. Rain mode definitely tames things down. In any case it's very smooth, light clutch, good gearbox. The front brakes are really good compared to the single disc models. Stock Michelin tyres handle well in twisties. Basically 4th gear will comfortably cover from 44-75 km/hr through mountain twisties. Fuel gauge and cruise control are nice additions but not essential as the tank is 21L. Getting between 20-25 km/L depending on the terrain and gear.

Important little things mentioned that others have not: better indicator switches and constant visual gear indicator etc. Good ‘un!

I test rode one last week and I think they actually improved everything I didn't like about the previous version(s). Besides the obvious (upside down fork and dual disc brake), the bike feel more compact, the rear seems firmer too, the whole bike feels smoother but not soulless, the gearbox is like butter yet positive, the few changes in the digital clock made it 10 times better (and more useful), the "sport riding mode" gives it a bit more duration in the higher revs (just this slightly more that was needed). It even sounds better than the previous version - which I believe was a step backwards in that matter, compared to the VIII, 750 cc.
I ended up buying a brand new 2024 V100 Mandello instead, for my own reasons, but I am still thinking wether buying a V7 Sport and spec'ing it up a little would be a more enjoyable (and carefree) ride. I guess I may have my final verdict after I finish breaking in!

I have the V7 Special Edition, the same as yours. I got in new with the winter discount earlier in the year. It's a lovely bike although I agree with you on the vague indicator switch. It's a great bike though and I enjoy riding it. A good review on the new V7 Sport. My wife came in to the room and didn't like the Limoncello colour but I quite like it. She loves the colour of the V7 SE though.

Unfortunately, I took a V7 Sport “limoncelo” for a test drive yesterday… I’ll have to open my purse strings, because the platonic love is over, now it’s really passion!!😅

a well produced comparison with your Motorcycle, I thought the Cruise on/off button should be on the RH switchgear. very helpful, could be my next Motorcycle.

Hi BW, I've been tuning in for a while now and am of a similar age. I was in Italy recently and saw a few 1970s and 80s V7s, among other italian marques, and my wife won't let me talk about them anymore. Love the channel. Just one thing I'd like to say. When you're doing a bike walk-round, the lens on the camera distorts the shapes and proportions of the subject. A minor thing, but I notice it every time.
Again, great content. I find myself nodding along.

Have a 23 model BMW 1250 RS , beautiful machine with all the tech bullshit. Just can't fall in love with it, going for a Guzzi V7 23 model Special because of the lack of tech and all the character. Can't wait to get my hands on one. Very little dealer support here in Virginia and a niche segment so lightly used examples can be found at very good prices, the hunt is on. Thanks for the review.

Nice review and I love that colour. It's a bike aimed at me as a buyer but I wouldn't buy it, unless they gave me an analogue clock option. It screams "cheap" because they are and they might suit a Katana but a digital clock clashes with an analogue bike, IMO anyway.
