This lady loves Kenya. I love you back. yes. Kenyans don't take sh*t from their politicians. We are not perfect but we know what where we want to go. Karibu Kenya. Ooops, you've been here for two years, so olewa Kenya - uko nyumbani. Kenyan here.
Wow that Florida Girl has some good things to say about the 254. Shout out. I grew up in Orlando., FL when Shaq played for the Orlando Magic. We use to hand out at the club in Etonville. That was in the 90s. I live in Atlanta now. Karibu Kenya.
Africans must understand that modernization and westernization are not the same thing. For far too long, we’ve mistakenly equated holding onto our culture with holding onto poverty and despair, leading many young people to believe they must adopt a Western identity to advance.
Look at Japan, China, or Singapore: they integrated thousands of years of heritage into cutting-edge modern infrastructure. They modernized without becoming Westernized, preserving their unique identity. Meanwhile, many African cities became carbon copies of European, American, or now Asian urban models, losing the distinct cultural identities of our ancestors. We can build modern economies without erasing who we are.
In the video, the lady said Kenya was the United States of Africa, and this was not the first time this has been said: In the 1960s Star Trek series, Lieutenant Uhura—portrayed by the pioneering African American actress Nichelle Nichols—shattered television barriers as one of the first Black women to hold a major, non-stereotypical role in science fiction. As a high-ranking bridge officer from the future United States of Africa (with origins in Kenya), Uhura famously spoke Swahili and proudly represented an advanced, unified African heritage on global screens. Her character's profound cultural impact even inspired civil rights leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who urged Nichols to stay on the show to keep blazing that trail for future generations.
Kenya is undoubtedly a magnificent country. Rather than trying to mirror the West, it should focus on building an independent identity rooted in its rich ancestry—standing tall and proud, just like the shields and spears on its wonderful flag.
The best countries for me to live in Africa are Mauritius, Kenya, Cape Verde, and Namibia; Mauritius is the best of the best. I have lived in each of these countries for more than 3 years.
