So many different budgets work for so many different people, depends on many things. The catchy vlogs that state live like a king for £1000 a month is defo not true, but some can have an enjoyable life on that, albeit you may be 1 accident or medical emergency away from really putting your finances under strain. I am saving and investing to have a larger amount available to me when I retire, but whatever budget you have, you certainly get more bang for your buck in Thailand, not to mention amazing food , culture scenery etc

Horses for courses, as far as spends are concerned, you cut your cloth to suit you life style. but well put together

For our family of 3 living in our villa in Hua Hin, it runs us about 150k bt a month for our regular expenses excluding travel and extraordinary expenses. About $4500 US which is quite inexpensive relatively speaking. The same lifestyle back home is easy $10k a month.

My Thai wife and I have lived in Hua Hin for 13 yrs., we rent a 2bd, 2ba., fully furnished house for 15,000 baht a month. Electricity averages, under 2000 baht a month, water 65 baht a month. We live quite well on 35,000 baht a month. Caveat: we don't go to bars and rarely eat out.

If you haven't investigated medical insurance already, it's worth doing so but with a very high deductible/excess, so it only covers the big, life changing stuff.

A lot it does not cover - as you also inform. If you want to have a live a good life including some of things "not cover", you need 100,000 THB per month minimum.
