Episode 1 completely pulled us in from the beginning. Meeting Easy Company for the first time… and knowing what’s coming makes it hit even harder. For those of you who love this series: What was the most impactful moment with Easy Company when you first watched?

It's arguably the best mini series ever. Can't be topped.

A UK Brit here, I know you have not served in the military but there is a phrase common to both the US and British Army "Hurry Up And Wait" it happens all the time. Pleased you are getting into this, I hope you enjoy it, I think you are going to learn so much, good luck.

for anyone interested, $50.00 in 1941 is worth roughly $1,100 today!🙂

Interesting fact about Winters that gives a big idea as to why he was such a good leader...he enlisted in August of 1941 and completed training as an enlisted man, then he remained at the camp where he trained to help train other men after him. He was selected for Officer Candidate School in April 1942, and after he finished that training and became an officer in July 1942 he volunteered for the Airborne...so when we see him as a Platoon Leader in Easy, that is his third set of training that Winters is undergoing.

Also...in case nobody mentions it, "Easy" was just the way that the US Army referred to the E Company in each Regiment. Companies, usually 9 of them, were lettered in each Regiment...A Company thru usually I Company...and each company had a standard phonetic name that was used to refer to them based on the letter of that company...so pretty much all the A Companies in the US Army were called "Able Company" and all the B Companies were "Baker" and all E Companies were "Easy". But of course, there was only one Easy Company that we are worried about for this show.

Welcome ladies to just about the best movie / mini series ever made. #1 thing for some deeper perspective, this was coming out of the Great Depression. Air travel was still a relatively new and very luxurious thing. Most of these guys had never even been in an airplane before. And a lot of them never even landed in an airplane until after the war, they were always jumping out!

My uncle Elmer was also Airborne but in the 17th Airborne which will be referred to in alter episode. He was a mortarman and flew into combat in a WACO glider.

You two are starting a journey that will make an impact on you soul. This is the greatest thing EVER produced for television. The soldiers are gone now, but because of this, they are immortal.
