What's most impressive is that Steven didn't change due to some external influence. He wasn't arrested or expelled or threatened with violence and got a wake up call. He just thought about his actions long enough and decided he was going to clean up his graffiti, apologize to Nancy, and distance himself from his awful friends.

I love when Steve be with the kids, He's so damn protective and the friends' chemistry between him and Dustin it's just priceless.
