Yes another instalment of the Max Master Class. One happy Kiwi apprentice. Thanks Max for sharing your wealth of knowledge and years experience. I for one appreciate it.
The new intro is great and am fascinated by everything in every aspect of the refurbishment of all these machines, thank you and as always superb skills and knowledge 👍👏🏻
Top millwright work Max. Nothing but the best from Hare & Forbes ay…..! They must be proud to stand behind their products….. That thing was thrown together with a shovel and a Spud Bar…..
Hi Max. I was a bicycle mechanic for 12 years before starting machining. That chain is probably just a recycled chain, every day we used to toss a dozen or so worn-out chains just like that into the chain recycling box, and at the end of the month send them off to a recycling service, who knows where they went from there. Now I think we know where they went...
Another great video Max! The attention to detail in the design and manufacture of that slotter is unbelievable!!! It looks almost like they dumped the bearing housing and bull wheel in place than with the gear sitting on it's driver simply drilled the bolt holes in situ! There's no doubt that machine will be 'Better than when it left the showroom' By the way, nice to see an old-school chain splitter!!😂
Klingerite is a gasket material also. Identifying issues & testing to find solutions is a method learnt through years of experience. Just loosening bolts can fix the problem. I missed those years of time saving ways. Use to have petty cash for material needed. Was never a gambler so it made completing tasks easier. Chain linking was a great example to people how to connect chain link. Nice change to intro. The thumbnail is king on utube.
At some point you have to run out of knowledge to share, but It hasn't happened yet We are living in a golden age where anyone, anywhere in the world can learn and benefit from accumulated years of experience from people like yourself Thank you once again
