Bicycling + camping has got to be the best combination, for me. I used to be able to just sleep on the ground, but prefer some cushion these days.

I don't see why people have to be so possessive of land that they probably don't hardly even look at, enjoy, or use. I do understand if people are doing damage or dropping trash on their land, and want to chase people off.

Good to see that you are enjoying the things you have. No use being blessed if you can't or won't grow into it! And, sometimes help lift others up in some way, when you feel moved so.

There are a number of species of sea ducks native to your area: Common eider, Common scoter, Red-breasted merganser, and Long-tailed duck are some of the most common species.

Looks like a fun adventure... so nice to have such an amazing place to ride so close to home! I just learned the other day that these are called “sub–24-hour overnights" or S24Os... a term coined by Grant Peterson (of Rivendale fame) almost 20 years ago in an article he wrote on Adventure Cycling.

These are my favourite posts of yours. Bikepacking. This was a great cheeky little overnighter. You're so like me, i keep intending to have a set-up for a one night camp, but always discover at the last moment, that my gear is all over yhe place. And inevitability, i forget something. What a great spot, you're so lucky. Still waiting for a proper review of that tent of urs, (and the alpkit ultra) hint, hint!😉 ps. Love the cat, and the way they do that hip shake before they pounce. Thanks Juliet , that looked like a great overnight adventure ! We have similar problems at one of my local beaches , people pick up plastic fishing/marine waste and pile it up , which is then picked up every month or two . Unfortunately dog owners , who don't want to carry their poo bags 2 miles to the nearest bin , think this would be the best place to leave them , and then the gulls rip them up . I thought a sign would be a good idea , so picked up some driftwood for the job . ✌
