"Deliciously depressing" is a perfect phrase to summarise Thomas Hardy! I devoured all his novels but have really struggled to appreciate his poetry, even though he devoted much of his life to it.

I’ve just bought “The Tenant of Wildfell Hall” ! I’m now excited to read it. LOTR and Silmarillion is staring at me from my bookshelf 😅

i love the short books. a lot to be said about a writer who only needs 100 or so pages to make something moving

I read The Tennant of Wildfell Hall for the first time this year and simply adored it. I now need to reread Jane Eyre to see which one is my favourite. Thank you for another wonderful video.

I really want to re-read les miserable.

Whaaaat!! I had no idea Peter Pauper Press also printed books!! Their journals are my favorite but I need to check out their selection of books

What a beautiful cover of the Jane Eyre book. I loved that book as a teen! I've yet to read it again.

Hi Emmilie! A book “Jane Eyre” is my favourite book and I read Jane Eyre in English at least 6 times. 🥰For me, I really love Jane’s personality and how she forgave her aunt in the end of the book. Thank you very much for sharing this fascinating video about books ❤which you read in 2026! ❤️

Every year when I read LOTR I listen to the the soundtracks. It's such an enjoyable read every year while listening to the music.

Some good ones for my wishlist! I really enjoyed how you spoke of each book you wanted to re-read and exactly why you want to return  to it. I also always enjoy that you never reveal any spoilers. Love that!! Wonderful video as always !! ❤

i NEED to reread the tenant of wildfell hall too!!! I read it over 5 years ago and I remember being mind blown by Anne Brönte's mind. I am very intrigued to see what I'll get from it upon a reread since I have now read way more and grown a lot as a reader. I'm sure I'll be able to pick up on things I might've not have noticed first.
I also really need to reread The Odyssey and The Illiad. I think I might get a different translation this time (probably Emily Wilson's!)

I live right near Walden Pond. If you ever visit and want to bask in the tranquility of nature, do NOT come in the summer. Wall-to-wall people, no serenity anywhere. 😂 But it’s a lovely place to swim. I recommend late autumn or wintertime for peaceful reflection.

The prose Rieu translations of Homer were the original Penguin Classics translations, and the first volumes they released, so, it was how Penguin Classics started. These translations are nice and accessible, but not mind-blowing.

Beautiful book review Emmelie Arents 🌹 I love, love, love this one on mention as I resonate with it at this time in my personal development.

Some great books. I wish I'll be able to get into reading The Hunchback of Notre Damn soon. And few others from this list.

A Pair of Blue Eyes is one i enjoyed!  It's not very well known.   I've read all of Hardy now except for 3.

I love Jane Eyre so much and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall!

I love Walden and The Children of Hurin. I do need to do a reread of both.

those cats you own are the biggest, fluffiest, domesticated cats i've ever seen. very majestic.

I am.not a big rereader but I aspire to be! There are just too many books I want to read.

You have inspired me to try reading the Hunchback of Notre Dame this winter, recently found it at a charity shop, so will give it a go.

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall is my favourite Bronte too, a hidden gem that deserves more love!
