This year, I encountered many different types of bicycles.

The biggest shock for me was "electric components."

Several months have passed since I participated in a sports cycling event, but I can't forget the impact of electric components.

With that feeling still fresh, I participated in a randonnée on my mini-velo, and I was reminded of the amazing capabilities of road bikes, which led me to decide to buy a new road bike.

When considering a new bike, I thought about whether to buy a complete bike or build one from scratch. However, I realized that building from scratch was the only way to get the road bike I truly wanted (one that would fulfill all my desires). So, I purchased a Di2 105 component group and searched for a frame that would match it.

I found ELVES Japan, discovered the Falath EVO, and ordered this frame, which I then built from scratch with the Di2 105.

This was my first fully internal cable build, a custom build with hydraulic brakes, and various parts including PF30s. I assembled the bike and filmed a video to document the process.

For those who want Di2 but think it's too expensive, I wanted to encourage you to try this build. I set the budget at under 500,000 yen, or 450,000 yen, so that even with additional purchases, you'd still have change left over.

The ELVES road bike I assembled weighs a mere 8.3kg despite being made of aero carbon, making it a bicycle worthy of the aero road bike name.

I've shown you everything I did to build it from scratch, so I hope this video encourages more people to try building their own bikes and ride Di2 carbon road bikes.

I recommend this to anyone interested in bicycle restoration or building their own bikes from scratch.

Please watch until the end if you'd like.
