It is astonishing, yet the frenzy surrounding them in the UK and their high level of recognition there have gone completely unreported in the Japanese media.
It is a strange situation where most Japanese people remain unaware of—and simply do not know about—this reality.

This is likely because the Japanese media has determined that, no matter how hard the group works or how much support they receive outside of Japan, there is no value in reporting on them domestically since they do not directly benefit financially from it.
However, the fact that—even after 15 years—they continue to be underappreciated in their home country of Japan and remain virtually unknown to many of their fellow citizens is hardly a happy situation for the members of BABYMETAL, who have devoted most of their youth to this endeavor.
