Across Australia there are fifteen places you are not allowed to visit: a nuclear weapons testing zone the size of England, a naval base hidden inside a harbour full of tourists, a former leper colony in Moreton Bay, an island holiday spot built over an Aboriginal prison, and a detention centre built specifically because nobody could easily reach it. This video takes you inside the fences of the Woomera Prohibited Area, the Montebello Islands, North West Cape, Rottnest Island, Peel Island, Barrow Island, Beacon Island, Lucas Heights, Christmas Island, Ashmore Reef, and three restricted zones you may already know from this channel: Maralinga, Wittenoom, and Pine Gap. Some of these forbidden places, restricted areas, and no-go zones in Australia are finally opening up. Most are still exactly as closed as the day they were built.
