This is one of the most fabulous documentaries going. Being a man of Sussex, I've always loved The South Downs and share Peter Owen Jones' passion for it. He is a wonderful presenter, a charismatic individual, and thoroughly decent being: the kind of person that resonates with us all. Long may he live and long may the South Downs National Park flourish!

I'm a man of the Sandstone and Clay, but I've spent a lot of time on The Downs over the years. Now introducing my Grandson to them. "Granpa, we're on top of the World".

TY for sharing
Breathtaking.
More than ever we have to remember what it is like to be human.
Adopt the peace of nature ❤

Recently moved to the area and have just discovered the South Downs. Its such an amazing place and I cannot stay away now! Great documentary that does justice to the absolute beauty of the downs!

Fabulous documentary.  I've just moved to Eastbourne and am exploring the beautiful South Downs in all it's glory.  Thank you for posting this once again.

I was born and bred on the southern slopes of the downs but I now like in Cumbria.   I so miss the Downs, this video has reminded me how much I do !     The change of the seasons, the sea to the south, the weald to the north, my idea of heaven.

Beautiful documentary of beautiful Sussex.

Brilliant. My home. I love it.

This is so well covered, need many more.👏

Love this, such a beautiful area and such a joy to visit. I feel at home here.

Fantastic film !

I was in the Royal Military Police in Chichester, our Regimental Headquarters and Training Centre. We would go into the Downs, way off the beaten track, to learn map reading and land navigation.

Love this  I must now take a trip to see these wonderful South Downs

Good video but I recall Michael Wood doing similar many decades ago... Michael Wood, the best TV historian ever

Andrew Baaaarr, how apt. :)

Really enjoyed this work of art and education combined. It seemed to be honest to its subject and history; fair and balanced without any harsh judgments. Positive and inspirational.  😎

I like this man's style. Need to get clothes like that

Great documentary, some truly wonderful shots of the south downs - wonderful to see the pollinating at Kingley Vale.
If anyone is interested, the best place i have seen water voles is in the summer in the beautiful town of Arundel - just by the castle on Mill Rd, you can see water voles with their babies often.

"constant grazing" ..... should be "over-grazing resulting in erosion and thus loss of soils...."

Ebike Eastbourne south downs friston freedom!
