Having driven one, the automatic gearbox in an m57 defender is next level. I was skeptical, however it’s definitely the way to go on these conversions.

I’ve got a pair of the Lazerlamps Triple-r 750 and they’re so bright. I’ve had them about five years and no issues. Ive also got a pair of the competition 1000 that had a warranty issue that was resolved super quick with no hassle. They were so helpful on email with wiring support too. It would be great to see you chat to a rep on the channel

I live in texas usa I own 2 land rover a 07 lr3 & 04 D2 everyone knows that the 4.6 in the discovery ll one day get slipping liners and overheating and blown head gaskets so far I haven't experienced that but I bought a 2010 335d bmw with m57 & 6 speed to do a engine swap into my o4 discovery ll in Europe a common sway with zf-4hp24 4 transmission,  I was going do same but decided it be much easier to keep 6 speed automatic already mated to m57 , here in texas diesel vehicles don't need emissions testing so im deleting egr and the dpf system and cats installing a 3in down pipe and new exhaust,  I know manker shop mainly works on defenders and m57 swaps but it would be nice to see a 04 discovery m57 swap to see what additional parts are used like air intercooler,  radiator,  ac condenser how this is all fitting and transmission cooler , and sense my 6 speed transmission still using the cable will bmw cable work or use zf-4hp24 4 cable to shifter it the little details like this and do I keep land rover discovery ecu along with bmw ecu , here in usa most swaps are l.s swaps into disco ll  for myself I want v8 power and fuel mileage 12 to 14 from 4.6 is horrible where diesel should be 25 plus in a discovery all wheel drive only information on this swap on YouTube and most are not well detailed in sawp I love to see you do one in a discovery ll or have a how to guide

Be good to see an m57 in a Range Rover Classic

I'd like to see what a Defender 110 with an N57 engine and a ZF 8HP75 automatic gearbox is like as a daily driver.

Guys would an N54 be a good starting point for my build,  I have already one with a 6hp, from a bmw 135i, or better just go m57 either with 6hp, it will be mostly for dayling it, it won’t see off-road basically, thanks in advance for your input

I have a discovery 1 and I am planning to put a m57 in it if can get it thru the swedish MOT. dont have abs brakes on my truck is it possible to get a cruise control mounted on it.

Just rememb what is the kg/t9nnage of the  vehicle because 22000 lbs in weight conversion  just shy of  9,000 kg/9tons

At 2.5 ton  you are a1ton overweight for rec9cvery
t gvm od 4 tons  your recovery  need is 16 tons  which is 7 ton overweight

You wilk need to check you license  for  weight restriction many years ago yiu were cover up to 8ton not sure what  is  today

Though personall  if i was going to play with a  landrover perentecc3 seat variant be the onlfy option

So I’m living with one I swapped myself using the bmw 6 speed as well.  Only issue Im having is the gearing.  It’s got the 1.2 transfer box.   Ashcroft do a .9 and a 1.0.  Which should I go for? Any help would be much appreciated.  It’s mapped with hybrid turbo
