The way I stared at my screen while you were talking about the person interacting with the contestant BEING PRE-JUDGED, I just can't, my god

I won last year didn't place this year but I clapped like mad when someone entered newcomer and ended up placing in artisan!
Its all about supporting each other
My friend came into pre judging as it was a quad suit and she became my handler 😂 she just stood in the shadowed area by the door so the focus was on me

My pfp is my entry he just needs some fixing up before future cons 🥰

Thankyou for this.  I'm hoping to enter a cosplay comp next year for the first time, and every hint helps!

All good tips! And definitely warrants a revisit as new folks come into the competition space.

Thank you for making this because I’m actually entering my first cosplay competition so this was really helpful. I will definitely be using these tips!✨

I love competing, it made me fall back in love with cosplay after I'd lost my drive and I really hope more people will try it!

Yay, it’s another “talking head” video with Kiralee! I love these. Good luck with the book!

Possible future video topic: What was it like writing a cosplay-focused romance novel?
- What were the inspirations?
- What were your favorite parts and least favorite parts of the process?
- Any surprises happen?
- Anything else you want to talk about.

I'm going to be in my first Cosplay Competition in 4 years this weekend and I'm so nervous! But thanks to your videos I've got a bit more confidence in my cosplay, my build book, and myself!! Thank you so very much for posting awesome videos like these!!! <3

Possible topic for discussion? Does competitive cosplay have a MASSIVE barrier to entry?

Currently i am trying to make sakizo dress. And it feels like a having a 2nd job! (I'm enjoying it btw) yet i am also bless with living with another cosplayer whom i have borrowed almost all of his equipment! Because if I didn't,  all i would have is a 12 year old brother machine a entry level one.

Yet watching alot of massive builds ive seen. People are using 3d printers, familar with 3d modelling programs, people even using adobe illustrator to make precise paper patterns etc. And we have people even making their own shoes and boots now!

Which i feel is getting slightly out of hand as thats more equipment and skills to need to learn etc  on top of the fact  not alot of people have a suitable workspace.

Is cosplay only ever gonna be for the top 0.01%? I can't speak for other scenes, but in the uk, if a certain cosplayer enters a contest alot of people will simply not bother to enter. Which results in the same 5 people winning?

Im wondering if more rules like i encounter i  the us, such as having a masters category  are needed so masters can only compete against other masters and they are inEligible to win best in show. Giving other people a chance?

I would like to hear your thoughts on this, given you are more traveled than i am, as i only have experience with uk but for the past decade have really only gone to dragoncon in the us  which has skill categories etc.

Question: For a cosplay prop that you are going to bring on stage, on that you are going to sit or stand on, do you bring that into prejudging as well?

Could the build book be on a USB drive?

Read the rules should be number 1 😂
