Today is an experimental day in the studio testing out this fun new hack my student shared with me. How cool is this custom slumping mold we crafted using my granddaughters chalk, haha! I can see some fun designs we can make using this awesome method.

I hope you enjoyed this video and it inspired you to do some experimenting in your studio,
Happy Fusing!

Not only have I used sidewalk chalk for stuff like this, the egg shaped chalk flattened a tiny bit makes a great floral/mushroom drape form

Do you know how much sidewalk chalk I have here for my grands??? It's all going into the kiln for stringers😂😂😂

Interesting to see how the chalk lost it's colour... always looking to common items to use that does not cost the earth

Put a groove in the very first one they will stay between the groves. So glad to see you trying it. So glad to see you had a bunchof chalk to try. Looking forward to seeing my pieces and what you make with the stringers and noodles.

So fun. I’ve done it with string of glue over the chalk too. It helps. ❤❤ Lisa, I’d love to see you experiment with using enamel paints, like color line. PS I love to hear all of your birds too. And the rain, too.

Glad you are doing this because I have used chalk a lot.

Great video! If you rub a flat spot on your chalk it won"t roll away.

I have even use square sidewalk chalk as dams for small things. It is a lot cheaper than having all the molds. I buy the molds when they go on sale. LOL Thanks Lisa!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which wavy mold is that exactly, the bigger one?

Hi, they look great! I have the same kiln and would like to know what schedule to use. I’ve only been doing my own firing for 3 months using the pre-set programs.
