We are at the Ayşe Mayda Mansion, which my dear friend Lucien Arkas, from one of İzmir's long-established families, has brought back to life with an extraordinary restoration. Inside, it is practically an oasis of history and art; nearly 200 priceless Turkish paintings, from Şeker Ahmet Pasha to Nuri İyem, await us. After commemorating the memories of the late Ayşe Mayda, Türkiye's first female orthodontist, we taste Merve Hanım's delicious raspberry chocolates. Of course, we finish with those honest and smooth-drinking olive oils from Torbalı, and we remember our dear Özkan Uğur with the words "good boy!". Glasses, or rather, olive oil tasting glasses, raised in the air, wishing to live to be 105 years old, adios!
