You know what I always found funny? She had every single possible green flag, yet everyone thought she would have been a villain. She is more of a Keeper, the healthy and cute one.
She has always shown great trust when it comes to Robert. It was brave of her to reveal her identity the way she did, extraordinarily so given her insecurities about herself. It was very important to me that Robert continued to be worthy of that.
She's the best girl, no question. I'm surprised people go for Invisi-gal: IG is violent, physically abusive, she has no concept of personal space or privacy, and only bypasses most of that by the writers handing the audience a steamy dream scene so you know she's attracted to Robert, (and is voice by Laura Bailey, who admittedly has a voice like sex on a stick). BB on the other hand actually is a good person, selfless and self-sacrificing, and the most key point: without her necklace, she's as normal as Robert. She knows exactly the line Robert is straddling and the struggles between the two worlds. She's not perfect, but she does the right thing because it's what she wants to do. IG is really for guys who want to try to 'fix' someone, but that never ends well. BB is the woman who doesn't need fixing, and tries to be a balm for your life, and every guy could use more of that!
I think it’s really cool that even if Robert keeps her at a distance/keeps things platonic with Mandy/Blonde Blazer— she’s still in Robert and everyone’s corner no matter what (she rescues Robert when he’s strung up by Shroud; she always temporarily transfers her powers to Chase; she gives Robert and Courtney her blessing regardless if Robert ONLY expressed interest in Courtney or cheated on Mandy after the dinner date).
What’s interesting is in paths where Robert does decide to date Mandy exclusively— you realize she’s actually not perfect, she’s a profoundly lonely person who is somewhat burdened by her status as a superheroine and icon.
So it can be assumed that if she’s let down or cheated on— she’s heartbroken but has to put those feelings aside for the greater good— which really does make her the most “traditional” superhero of the entire Dispatch cast which is kind of needed to let this mix in this world feel more like a proper western superhero tale than a deconstruction of one like The Boys or Invincible.
It’s like— she loves being Blonde Blazer because she loves helping people/saving people but she hates that she has to be Blonde Blazer.
Whereas Robert loves that he has to be Mecha Man but hates being Mecha Man; and Courtney hates being Invisigal/Invisibitch and hates that she has to be Invisigal/Invisibitch.
In an interesting way— Courtney is a lot like a DC superheroine while Robert is like a Marvel hero and Courtney is like an Image Comics antihero.
