Key Points to Remember After You Watch The Video. (Thank Me Later): 1. If you are constipated, eating too much dry fiber can actually make the problem worse because your body needs enough water to soften it (0:00-0:27).
2. Think of your colon like a garden hose; it needs to be moist and flexible to work properly, but it becomes hard and stuck when you are stressed or dehydrated (1:18-2:09).
3. You should stop relying on stimulant laxatives for regular use, as they can teach your bowels to stop working on their own (6:00-6:09).
4. Start your morning by drinking two glasses of warm water, which helps wake up your digestive system (6:58-7:15).
5. Adding healthy fats like a teaspoon of olive oil to your morning water can help lubricate your gut (7:24-7:34).
6. Eating two kiwis every day is a proven way to help you go to the bathroom more easily (8:15-8:44).
7. Including four to six prunes in your daily routine adds gentle bulk and helps draw water into your system (8:58-9:23).
8. Use a small stool under your feet when you go to the bathroom to shift your body into a natural squatting position, which makes passing stool much easier (10:51-11:18).
9. If you need very fast relief in a hurry, eating an orange slice with the peel and some cayenne pepper can act as a quick, one time trick (11:28-11:51).
10. Remember to practice two minutes of slow, deep breathing before bed to help your body relax and stop your muscles from clenching (12:14-12:33).
@drjamesxo I made a full content pack from this episode, starting with short-form video clips, along with a newsletter, short summary, glossary, mind map, infographic, and ready-to-post versions for X, LinkedIn, and Facebook. Let me know if any of these would be useful for your audience, and I’d be happy to send them over. BTW, I can do the same for each of your videos in your library.
I deeply appreciate your emphasis on softly not stressing, because I am 82 and no doctors have helped me yet. YT information is more valuable. I am an MD, practiced in the best hospitals, so I am ashamed at the lack of support from lack of education in the general medical profession. I was one of the first to get my Doctorate in Natural Medicine and Herbal Medicine. I would love to have money to pay for Functional Medicine. Ain’t that weird? MDs sold out to pharmaceutical companies and closed down patient care for money. They too are learning because they are dying. Thanks for being part of the solution and exception.❤❤❤
Can we talk about how much money weve all wasted?? I added it up after reading the book Rogue Remedies by Ruth Vance and nearly fell off my chair. Thousands. Thousands of dollars on things I didnt need.
Thank you so much for this information. Unfortunately I have an intolerance to fructose along with lactose. I have warm water and lemon juice every morning. I don't drink a lot of water because of my commitments of being out most days. Being constipated and also with diarrohea is because of IBS. I also have olive oil each day. Cannot tolerate leafy greens. At 85 years I am so sick of it.
I have had two bowel surgeries in 2023 while on Ozempic One was volvulus and other blocked bowel , Ileus . Not having mild cramping and had X-ray which showed some stool in colon. so I want to try these tricks to keep from having another emergency surgery. thanks for the information Dr. James.
What if I am taking klonopin and that is relaxing the muscles to the point that no matter how hard i push I cannot have a complete movement and when it comes out it is soft and mushy and it is not the normal shape but pieces....help!!
Thank you! Whammed by stress. Pesky fire smoke caused bronchitis; antibiotics required == I haven't used an antibiotic in over 10 years! Aging mother becomes, ill after a fall; hospitalization, dX bowel obstruction, she's too old for abdominal surgery -- cheaper to let her die of slow starvation. There in hospice doing overnights. Family stress. Then, after 2 years of holistic methods applied healing for my own hip/knee excruciatingly painful injury -- I heal it 98% and my body relaxes. I sleep through the night, in an amazing position; no hip or knew pin. Now? Now? I become constipated. The only time I've ever experienced this issue before is during pomegranate season. As a child, I would eat 3-4 pomegranates a day -- sees and all. Absolutely constipating gourmet delight. Today, I can't afford 1 pomegranate. I used to buy them by the bag full. $.05 a piece. Love the Kiwi tip.
