I built myself a completely free bag target by going to my local baker every day for a week and getting all of their empty flour sacks. It took about fifty sacks to completely pack one of the sacks, then I put that stuffed sack inside 3 more sacks. It works really well and didn't cost me a penny. I used a 40cm long piece of PVC pipe I found in the trash to help roll it all down, and tape up the top. That left me with a pipe running along the top that I could thread a rope through so that I could hang it/carry it. When it's shot out, I can take it apart, and restuff it all into a couple of new bags and I'm off to the races again.

The best place I have found to get a ton of plastic is from Mattress warehouses. All the new mattresses are wrapped in it and they literally just throw it all away. I was quick and just dumpster dived but I’m sure they would have given it away if I asked.

I have seen a lot of videos of cheap diy targets but material still cost around 100€. This is the TRUE cheap diy target. Thank you!

I've seen several DIY target ideas  and I have to say this is the best one! Thank you and I look forward to future DIY vids.

Been using mine for a few months now, works amazing! 🏹 I've put the target inside the house after im done shooting, so it should last forever. Sometimes theres little pieces of plastic on the arrowhead, but this depends on the filling used and how messes up it gets after hundreds of shots, might have to change it at some point, but that's easy.

Without using any wood or woodworking tools, I like this build very much!

Great vid, if you go to large garden centre/ nursery,ask them for 90ltr large plant pot, you can normally pick one up for free.

I was about to waste a stupid amount of money here in Norway to get a decent target because my first attempt of making a DIY one was a disaster (I used small branches from bushes in my garden to fill it). I never thought of using plastic and it seems perfect for the wet weather and wet grass I use to have around! Thank you!!!

Those few penetration holes on the back side are actually a nice feature.  They would help facilitate the packing to drain and dry out a bit quicker after a rainstorm.  I would consider drilling some holes right from the start, just for that reason.

I'm going to save a lot of money in the future thanks to this video.
I've been trying all sorts of things to do my own target, and I must admit that I just got tired of it, so I bought one instead.
This one looks like an easy way to do for myself.

Bonus Tip: Get used Pallet Wrap, which most places will just throw away. Those large big box stores like Home Depot (Bunnings in Oz), particularly where they might sell large bags of potting mix off a pallet. Those pallets have to be wrapped well due to unstable bags (unlike boxes that might have a light wrap), so if you enquire what day they get most of their deliveries they can put some aside for you. The benefit here is that it is the one type of plastic, so is consistent and is free.

Great ideal plus on the cheap for those that don't want to drop a lot of cash. Seen a lot of DIY on targets for Archery and most get into a lot of work or required power tools. Not to mention a long list of materials to buy that can really increase the cost to manufactured models seen in stores or in online shops.

I think a few who have posted below have missed the point. Clearly this is just a ideal where one can modify to fit his or her needs. Anyways, great ideal @Robin Hood Archery!

Nice idea, I made  my target out of an old suitcase filled with expanding foam and wrapped the whole thing in parcel tape, works a treat.
