Our first proper summer living in Spain 🇪🇸☀️

When the kids broke up from school, we had no idea just how much we were going to pack into the next few months.

We actually took our son out of Spanish school a week early because it was his first year and we thought he might be exhausted and ready for a break. Looking back… he was actually really happy at school, so maybe we should have kept him in! 😂

From there, we spent five nights at a hotel, visited a water park, travelled around Valencia and Benicàssim, spent plenty of time on the beach and somehow managed to fit an unbelievable amount into one summer.

We also bought Casa Alessia in Oliva Playa, got it ready and welcomed our first guests, spent time with new friends we’ve made here, enjoyed the Moros y Cristianos celebrations, visited friends on the farm, went to festivals, enjoyed Campsite Valencia, experienced the eclipse from the sea, visited the water park in Benicàssim and finally got to meet our baby niece after months apart.

And, of course, we had to figure out how to actually LIVE through a Spanish summer — including learning how to deal with the heat! 🥵☀️

We also spent some really special time with family who came over to see us, including a week in Benicàssim.

Looking back, it was absolutely hectic… but in the best possible way.

New places. New friends. Family. Beaches. Festivals. Our new apartment. The kids making memories. And a completely new life that, honestly, we’re loving.

So this video is basically our summer review — all four of us sitting down and talking about the memories we’ve made and just how much has happened since school finished.

It’s nearly 30 minutes long because we didn’t want to rush it. This is one of those videos we’ll hopefully look back on years from now and remember exactly what our first summer in Spain felt like. ❤️
