You can tell she was a hardcore smoker IRL and she is probably the best movie smoker ever.

Her ability to pull hard on those potent unfiltered cigs and then suck it deep into her hapless lungs was unmatched. Unfortunately that likely also explains the lung cancer she was diagnosed with in 1972. Some believe that her presence on a movie set near Yucca Flats, site of above-ground nuclear weapons testing, led to her being susceptible to that. She seemed utterly devoted to cigarettes, as a line from her 1949 movie “My Foolish Heart” attests: “Just two puffs on a cigarette and I’ll be perfectly happy”.

That drag and exhale at 6:29 is perfect ❤

There’s a quick scene in Top Secret Affair that I’ve slowed down and looped that is absolutely one of my all time favorites.

Some wonderful excerpts from the illustrious career of Susan Hayward.  Watching these sequences one would be led to believe that Hollywood actors of yesteryear did nothing but smoke & drink on screen, but this is a fact, if the  woman wasn't smoking & drinking, then it was the man.  It's as if a movie wouldn't be complete unless these injurious to health scenes were shown.  Forgot about the liquor & smoke and see how Ms. Hayward used her eyes to advantage to  make her intentions known.  In real life, she was a tough as nails  woman and brooked no nonsense from either man or woman on set.  She was always the STAR of the show and on screen and off, she was never subservient to anyone.

Her cheek hallowing omi’s have helped me work out some pent up frustration’s many time’s.Thank’s for putting this together!

A GODDESS!!

Gorgeous.
