I feel like being resisted by so many types kills the possibility for Ice to be such a glass cannon when so many pokemon can negate their effectivess or just be inmune to them.

Steel should still have at least ONE type advantage, but otherwise I see how this is more balanced

Flying types should be immune to Dive, my rational is that seafaring birds are good at hunting fish, but fish or any other aquatic species trying to lunge out of the water have a hard time getting birds. Same for muddy water or surf, birds should be able to fly out of the way.

A note from me: Dragon, Psychic, Fairy, and Ghost can be seen as four magical types.

A lot of Pokemon gods are of the Dragon type. It could be that dragons are reality warpers.

Psychic are able to manipulate the world with the mind.

Fairy calls the force of nature to side with them.

Ghost is necromancy.

So as a bench mark for how “good” a type chart is I like to do a Shedinja test (this means nothing and literally just because I kind of want to see if Shedinja would be op), Bug is weak to Fire, Flying, and Rock. With Ghost being weak to itself and Dark we get Shedinja being weak to five types, all of them being the same as the current type chart. Good job!

One change I'd like: let ghost keep it's immunity to normal. It's practically the identity of the type

In addition to making Bug types immune to Taunt, you should also make them immune to anything an opponent could do to affect move choice: immune to things like Heal Block, Follow Me and other redirecting moves, etc. But they should still be able to have move limitations self-imposed, like if holding a Choice Scarf or using something like Outrage or Rollout

I like this type chart however it needs some change:
-fire should resist grass in order to keep the starters triangle
-the dragon gimmic is too RNG, so it should be replace with something like "immune to intimidate
-the steel type gimmic should be something like Multiscale but slitly weaker (it takes 2/3 of the damage when full HP), also it need at least one super effective attack, otherwise moves like bullet punch would be completley useless.
-psychic types should be immune to Sleep (or just hypnosis) because smart people have an horrible sleep schedule and they can't be hypnotized
-also, fixing the type interactions is only part of the solution: every type should have a respective status/weather/terrain and the already existing ones should be reworked.

to avoid having to alter the STAB bonus, I'd probably just be more particular with the moves that good-statted mono types and dual types get

a simple way to make the order of your type matter is you only get the secondary benefit of types from your 1st type

I had the thought to change ghost dramatically. Remove it from the weakness and resistance based on type and change the ability to "resists contact moves, weak to noncontract moves". Very different and keeps lots of the normal and fighting resistances without tagging it to the types.

Also I've typed with the idea of messing with move balance and stat distribution more than the type chart itself. Something to keep expected value of moves comparable while still allowing for some expression based on type and species. I like a lot of what you have in the chart and could see using something like this in a grand overhaul

A common Martial arts training tactics is to spend time in extreme temperatures to build up your endurance and mental fortitude. So fighting resisting cold makes sense.

Losing months to a project like this is definitely something I can relate to. I started working on renumbering the National Pokédex to consolidate cross-generation evolutionary lines and to make each regional Dex more closely follow the geography of its region back in August and I just finished the first complete draft earlier this week.

23:44 my concern with poison is that none of its weaknesses make sense. When I tried to rebalance the chart I found poison to be the hardest to imagine logical weaknesses . I settled on fire, ice and water.
