great day for fishing

the importance of a side character being a side character W

Man tries to seclude himself but human nature drives him to connect to others

Bro has S tier memes and the best way of story telling.

I'm being honest being an awkward recluse in a big RP server like this is so unbelievably funny as a concept to watch.

“While he didn’t make it home, he died knowing that he had lived.”

My guy got radicalized into realizing that his plight and his neighbors plight is the same no matter how hard he tried to ignore it

just to clarify, in the mule scene, i am NOT the person with the british accent. they are off-screen and i was just trying to help them find their mule. i am NOT british

“I simply am not there.” 💀💀💀

So many people get that video wrong btw.

They think it's about a guy finding solitary solace and serenity in monotonous fishing. When it's actually about a guy who believed he would find solace in monotonous fishing and his relationship with the urge to form human connections.

The fact that it genuinely shows the civilian POV due to him refusing to interact with the environment and what occurs amidst society but being affected by it anyways. It shows how much more complicated a person is because he couldn't boil the video down to fishing despite that being the premise, there's more to the world and people than just a singular thing. I think his death was incredibly impactful too, because we see an actual normal person who is uninvolved in the main plot, dying. While empathising with him as a character is subjective, I think it did a good job of highlighting the weight of life of any person instead of just the important people. When creators who summarise the plot say stuff like "There were an XXX amount of causalities from this war", it really does get glossed over on how many people in the server was playing.

It's like how people say "Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn’t mean politics won’t take an interest in you." which is directly shown in the video. This reflects the real people, cause how many people in the world are actually world-affecting politicians, highly respected militants, etc. I really like how his fishing bit did stay but would often become a second-priority (at least in terms of immediacy) because that would make him too shallow, too 2-dimensional of a character, to truly not care else but himself.

Loopy has no idea whats going on, what things do, tunes into basic news, and figures he'd be better off doing his own thing. Its a true NPC POV in the best way possible cause it is what it is

Everyone's telling him to put on armor like when you're walking down the hallway with your shoes untied

This is the exact antithesis to Mr beast’s civilisation video. No big wars, massive events, plot twists, politics or money on the line. Its a background character who goes about his life fishing, something that should be incredibly boring and at some points will be. However because Loopy takes the time to focus on the people on the server, we are invested in this community as more than a set piece in a mr beast set. Instead these small scale things like getting trapped in that cave  leave an impact a Mrbeast video fails to do because the time was taken to get us invested in the story. Ultimately It has Soul, a core ingredient that makes civilisation videos like Ishs so entertaining. It is because you can use minecraft as a microcosm of society, to reflect behaviour we see irl into a more simplistic context that makes this type of video so captivating, popular and loved while Mrbeasts video is hated.

1:17:55 Ludwig knows I exist now lol

Glad you enjoyed the video, and shoutout to Loopy for featuring me - great work on his end!

"came out 2025 but I'm gonna call it a 2026 video" because Ludwig said so.

If he just fished the whole time he'd have been able to revive the whole server

This video was never about fishing, it was about a person overcoming seclusion

His newer desert video is somehow even better in my opinion

Probably the best Minecraft "viral" video I've seen in a while. Something about this just feels so raw. None of the "I want to be the hero" but rather just a side character's story being told. And that ending was genuinely so good.

loopy the type of guy to hide behind all his teammates in dodgeball until he's the last one left
