When we talk about the heroes of World War II, it seems their names are remembered only in the post-Soviet space. But this is far from true.
In the new episode on the War Industrial channel, we examine the biographies of five Soviet soldiers who received enormous recognition in the West. Some were featured in American folk songs, others were featured in Hollywood blockbusters, and some are still hailed by Western historians as tactical geniuses and the men who saved the planet from nuclear apocalypse.
In this video, we separate real heroic deeds from propaganda and beautiful legends. We'll talk about Lyudmila Pavlichenko, Konstantin Rokossovsky, Ivan Kozhedub, Vasily Zaytsev, and Vasily Arkhipov, the officer whose refusal to obey orders prevented World War III during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
👇 Write in the comments: whose story of these five impressed you the most? And which other famous historical figures are worth exploring on the channel?
