I've recently been competing in a local winter league at York Railway Pond.  I haven't filmed the matches due to the short setup times but I can tell you that they have been dominated with small perch mostly caught fishing pinkie over dark groundbait.

In an attempt to find some roach and bream and with some fresh Middy Match Range Reactacore elastic loaded into a top kit, I decided to head down to the venue for a match practice session and try some bloodworm and joker fishing.

Groundbait of choice was Dynamite Baits Silver X Roach Super Black and I cut this with some damp leam, a process I explain in the video in detail.

Bloodworm & Joker can be one the very best winter fishing baits, but would it tempt the roach and bream or would I just end up pole fishing for perch?

If you are interested in any of the products I use or feature in the videos, I have been compiling a list of those in my amazon store.
