SBCs no longer seem like a cheap entry point at these inflated prices!

I remember when you could get a 1tb nvme for £45

The iGpu of this SoC has only a proprietary driver(no open-source driver exists/will exist). Gpu hardware acceleration was only meant to work on one version of linux(kernel) which is already obsolete. People should know what they're buying.

It’s high time SBCs started adopting UEFI and ACPI.

This “only works properly on this one ancient distro we cobbled together and will never touch again” is getting seriously old.

These SBC are pricing themselves out of the hobbyist market.

SBC Sunday, Mr Scissors seconds & Stanley SSD surprise... SUPER!

Shipping Ubuntu 22 and Debian bullseye in 2026 is ridiculous. These SBC manufacturers will obviously never support these devices with up to date software.

After sitting in my Amazon cart for a few weeks and me telling myself I don't need a new sbc, I finally pulled the trigger yesterday. And now you've released a video on it. Impeccable timing sir, I'm very excited.

Nice to see Mr Scissors on hand to help open the packaging not once but twice! The Orange Pi is an interesting project board, as long as it gets the support it needs and can run OS's that aren't near E.O.L. Finishing off neatly with Stanley the nvme drive making an appearance what's not to like. Another happy Sunday  :_scissors2:

I think to my self...
The Write brothers would be bowled over if they saw the latest 747 or A380, and acknowledging this has happened in the last 100 yrs.
Then you have Sir Clive Sinclair (More importantly, Criss Curry who went on to develop the ARM chip) comparing what they had, (ZX81) and now we have the Pi zero which is a simple computer (Far, far superior to the ZX81) with little power compared to what is available, and all this in 40+ yrs....
We have barriers to overcome, like Moore's Law and the speed limit of CPU clocks, but I think they are developing ways round this.....
It's an incredible time to be in.....
