This book needs to be part of every history class in the U.S.

Honestly cried my eyes out at the parts about children of strikers being taken in so they wouldn’t starve.

The American dream “You have to be asleep to believe it” G.C.

I'm a life long history nerd. When I discovered Howard Zinn, my life changed, my writing changed. Then, I met him!

Fortunately, my AP US History teacher used A People's History of the United States as a guide for our whole semester. Unfortunately, I was a disinterested teenager who didn't appreciate the class as much as I should have. Thank you for creating and posting this documentary.

Howard Zinn’s “A People’s History of the United States” is one of the greatest books ever written!

This made me look for the book in my home library and realize that it is no longer there. I must have lent it out and never got it back. I need to get a new one now.

THANK YOU HOWARD ZINN for a crash course in what this country is build on:  Blood Sweat and Tears.  We were never taught these facts.

Howard zinn was an outstanding historian, sort of the Carl Sagan of American history -- telling a story that's often not common knowledge but which is an essential part of our core knowledge

This government is so quick to call people socialist and communist, because they want to keep taking advantage of the poor and maintain their wealth and position, all power to the people we must unite

Every library, every household should have this book.

I was fortunate enough to have Howard Zinn as a professor at BU in 1986.  I even ate dinner with him once.  Wonderful man.

A little known fact about the history of the American labor struggle is that the American Legion, which is thought of as a veterans' organization, was originally founded as a group of strike-breakers.

As a Union representative for 12 years and a member for 26, this should be shown to every new union member when they join. I love Howard and this book should be mandatory reading for all union representatives.

Grew in Lawrence, MA and can confirm the Bread and Roses strike was something we heard about once during a field trip to the museum but the importance of the events are completely under appreciated.

Best wishes from Manchester old England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 cheers a wonderful man very sadly missed. He was a light of justice and freedom in a very dark world. God rest her soul

"Who controls the food supply controls the people; who controls the energy can control whole continents; who controls money can control the world." - Henry A. Kissinger

I began protesting as an 11 year old paper boy in the summer of 1968! I went to SEA/TAC during the TET offensive to take a knee with the Veteran I delivered papers to at 4 to 5am. He made me understand that if we do not fight this now, I will be forced to go  to the near East and kill people in their homes. I had my fantasy about that, I wanted to be a tunnel rat! I am small and I was extremely quick and agile. I would be as good in a tunnel as any Vietcong. Fortunately the American people rose in the very early 70's! We took our licks and bullets! Four dead in Ohio was no joke, when you are avoiding the billy clubs. Now what amazed me, was what I knew at 12! The Veterans taught me about Ike's last speech, how Vietnam was not about democracy, but resources. Nickle, titanium and rubber. At the same time Russia was doing the same thing we were, they used their military to enforce their government on the Vietnamese. this is one of our military industrial complex's longest war to date. Only to be surpassed by the war in Afghanistan, nobody has ever song songs about the youth protesting those deadly wars, methinks you are all indoctrinated to just accept this.

Thank you! This was a beautiful documentary.
