Can a 15-year-old boy survive whippings with lead hooks, burning coals above his head, boiling oil all over his body, and a pack of hungry lions… and still be standing singing hymns to Christ? Saint Agapitus did. In this video, you will discover the extraordinary, disturbing, and inexplicable story of a young nobleman from Palestrina who, in 274 AD, publicly defied Rome's most powerful emperor by refusing to worship pagan gods and was subjected to a series of tortures designed to kill him in the most brutal ways imaginable. You will witness the moment the fire extinguished itself when they tried to burn him alive, hanging him by his feet; the scene that left the entire arena in absolute silence as hungry lions rushed toward him and lay down to lick his wounds like domesticated animals; and the supernatural instant when the statues of pagan gods from the neighboring temple crumbled to dust as the boy prayed aloud. And the most chilling ending of all—the governor who ordered all his tortures fell dead in convulsions in his own imperial chair as he watched the spectacle. Only a sword finally managed to stop him. A story of superhuman courage, impossible miracles, and a faith that not even the Roman Empire in all its power could break.
