In this video I share my experience and recovery process getting a septoplasty and turbinate reduction. There will be some blood and other stuff that comes out of my nose so fair warning.

A few things for those looking to get the surgery. I didnt have any nausea post surgery, I didnt have a sore throat from the breathing tube. My 2 front teeth were sore post surgery but by the next day thsy were fine, it felt like have braces tightened, not bad at all pain wise. I already could breathe better after surgery. Day 1 had tons of drainage! Have lots of gauze, do the nose rinses, having a humidifier is handy, drink tons of fluid, DO NOT bend over. By day 3 I have almost no drainage, the congestion get bad day 2 and 3. Ears pop, cant breathe through your nose ,it feels like a bad head cold. But so far totally worth it so far. I mostly did this so I dont mouth breath while awake, my throat is so obstructed(i have a genetically narrow throat and "fat" tongue I was told by the ENT lol) I know I will still need a cpap to get actual restful sleep. Also having a clear nasal passage I can stop using the nose sprays, nose strips and not having a sore dry throat. Another thing that helped me was sleeping in a recliner, I have an electric one so it doesnt jolt forward or backwards. Even now recovering during surgery I slept 5hrs straight last night, I never do that! My wife said I wasnt snoring and during my sleep study they said I had an apnea attack every 30ish seconds. I can already tell this surgery will greatly help me and probably most with a deviated septum and inflammed turbinates.
